Procurement and supply management tools

Availability of medicines and supplies can be facilitated by the application of the right tools for the right processes.  This procurement and supply management tool mapping seeks to facilitate this access by listing all identified PSM tools used for procurement of MNCH commodities.  The assessment is modeled on the PSM toolbox template.  The mapping categorizes tools based on the procurement and supply management cycle presented in the 2008 UNICEF Supply Annual Report.  Tools are further subcategorized by type: catalogue, database, fact sheet, guide, guideline, lists [e.g. check list, price list], manual, software, spreadsheet, standard operating procedures, training course material and website.  The mapping outlines for each tool their different uses, cost, advantages and limitations, links to the tools themselves and contact information for tool focal points.
